As a key member of our Advanced Control and Automation (AC&A) team, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of our gas processing facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to identify, prioritize, and implement Advanced Process Control (APC) applications across multiple sites.
This position is integral to strengthening the Advanced Process Controls Network within Phillips 66 Midstream. You will develop best practices and provide training to site operators on the effective use of Advanced Control and Optimization applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with process engineering and site operations to identify and execute APC applications.
- Oversee the daily maintenance and sustainment of APC applications at various gas processing facilities.
- Deliver consulting services, including training for operations to enhance their use of advanced applications and ensure optimal utilization.
- Establish and implement best practice standards to improve the long-term effectiveness of APC and multi-unit optimization applications.
- Travel to sites as necessary to implement and maintain APC applications.
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual progress reports, highlighting key performance metrics.
- Support and troubleshoot interfaces with base process control systems.
- Provide consulting services to operations and engineering teams to enhance operational reliability.
- Evaluate software updates from vendors and assist sites with software upgrades.
- Participate in APC and process control peer reviews as required.
- Contribute to the discovery, selection, and implementation of new technologies and practices for Advanced Control and Optimization.
Required Qualifications:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Valid driver's license.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multivariable process control and optimization.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Natural Gas Cryogenic process.
- Experience with Distributed Control Systems.
- Willingness to travel up to 30%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of gas processing and interactions among process units.
- Experience with process control techniques, including advanced control design and tuning on major refinery units.
- Familiarity with leading APC and Optimization software such as Aspen DMC+/DMC3, Honeywell Profit Suite, and others.
- Knowledge of communication interfaces between APC technology and Distributed Control Systems.
- Experience with machine learning tools for data analytics and process control.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong commitment to safety and effective communication skills.
