Position Overview

The Senior Supportability Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal supportability of engine programs within the organization. This position involves a comprehensive analysis and enhancement of system supportability to fulfill relevant requirements, serving as the primary liaison between the Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) and the Logistics sector. The objective is to deliver an engine system that achieves superior supportability while minimizing logistical challenges and reducing overall customer life cycle costs.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to execute supportability-related tasks and deliverables.
  • Oversee the schedule, budget, and performance metrics for the Supportability team.
  • Identify constraints, thresholds, and opportunities for improvement to translate supportability insights into actionable trade-offs.
  • Engage in technical discussions and design evaluations as the supportability authority.
  • Work alongside design teams to create module parts lists and refine engine designs to enhance supportability and minimize life cycle expenses.
  • Conduct Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA) and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  • Establish and implement the process for creating Logistics Control Numbers.
  • Participate in software assessments led by the Digital Technology team to identify appropriate software solutions that align with requirements and support long-term objectives.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in supportability engineering or a closely related discipline such as product support, field service, technical documentation, reliability, systems engineering, provisioning, training, logistics, supply chain, or sustainment.
  • Capability to maintain or obtain a Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience with gas turbine engines.
  • Background in logistics engineering.
  • Familiarity with product support analysis as per MIL-HDBK-502A.
  • Experience in collecting, developing, and managing logistics support analysis record data in accordance with MIL-STD-1388-2B and/or GEIA-STD-0007.
  • Proficient in Siemens Teamcenter Visualization Mockup.
  • Knowledge of Logistics Product Database software (SlicWave, Eagle, etc.).
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Competence in planning, documenting, and executing programs utilizing established project management methodologies.
  • Master's degree is a plus.
