Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

At KFI Engineers, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful execution of projects, providing technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design of power distribution systems, including primary and secondary systems.
  • Support the design of building power and lighting systems, including special systems such as ground fault, lightning protection, emergency generator, UPS, etc.
  • Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure application of Electrical Engineering Principles.
  • Possess a basic understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Structural Engineering construction practices.
  • Build up knowledge of Codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, etc.).
  • Assist with performing voltage drop and short-circuit calculations. Perform arc fault analysis.
  • Coordinate work with other departments and project team members as well as contractors.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineering registration in Ohio, or the ability to obtain Ohio registration via comity.
  • 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drawing experience.
  • Healthcare design experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with FGI guidelines and NFPA 99.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction.
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders.
