Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at KFI Engineers. As a key member of our Medical & Clean Manufacturing department, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of projects.

Job Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. This includes assisting with the design of power distribution systems, supporting the design of building power and lighting systems, and preparing engineering documents and equipment specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design of power distribution systems, including primary and secondary systems
  • Support the design of building power and lighting systems, including special systems such as ground fault, lightning protection, emergency generator, UPS, etc.
  • Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and ensure application of Electrical Engineering Principles
  • Possess a basic understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices
  • Build up knowledge of Codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, etc.)
  • Assist with performing voltage drop and short-circuit calculations, and perform arc fault analysis
  • Coordinate work with other departments and project team members as well as contractors
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (PE) registration in Ohio, or ability to obtain
  • Healthcare design experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with FGI guidelines and NFPA 99
  • Strong attention to detail

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineering registration in Ohio, or the ability to obtain Ohio registration via comity are required. P.E. registration in other states is desirable but not required.
