Job Summary:The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. This includes assisting with the design of power distribution systems, supporting the design of building power and lighting systems, and preparing engineering documents and equipment specifications.
Responsibilities:- Assist with the design of power distribution systems, including primary requirements and motor feeder and starter sizing.
- Support the design of building power and lighting systems, including special systems such as ground fault, lightning protection, emergency generator, UPS, etc.
- Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and ensure application of Electrical Engineering Principles.
- Possess a basic understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices.
- Build knowledge of Codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA, IBC, Life Safety Code, etc.).
- Assist with performing voltage drop and short-circuit calculations, as well as arc fault analysis.
- Coordinate work with other departments and project team members, as well as contractors.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Professional Engineering registration in Ohio, or the ability to obtain Ohio registration via comity.
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience, with project experience and/or a working knowledge of Electrical design for building projects.
- AutoCAD, Revit, or similar drawing experience is highly beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to enable effective interaction with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.
- Professional Engineering (PE) registration in Ohio, or ability to obtain.
- Healthcare design experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with FGI guidelines and NFPA 99.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction.
- Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders.
