Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the acquisition and procurement of necessary items to facilitate daily operations within the organization.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Develop and negotiate purchasing agreements and/or buying programs to secure optimal value for each acquisition.
- Identify and pursue new sources for required items as necessary.
- Possess a technical understanding of assigned product categories.
- Stay informed on economic, industrial, and other trends that may influence market conditions and pricing.
- Establish and uphold planning parameters within a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Oversee the placement, confirmation, and tracking of purchase orders.
- Generate and analyze reports to assess the status of material needs in relation to production schedules.
- Negotiate terms for regional and national shipping contracts in collaboration with the supply chain team.
- Work closely with the scheduling department to optimize and enhance shipment and notification systems.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to create cost-saving solutions and documentation for packaging.
Essential Skills and Competencies
• 2-3 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience utilizing ERP systems, particularly in supply chain functions.
• Strong organizational capabilities with a keen attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to produce accurate, professional, and error-free documentation promptly.
• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Familiarity with warehouse inventory management, contract terms, pricing strategies, purchase orders, blanket orders, and sales and marketing data.
Education and Experience
• A Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Travel Requirements
• Up to 5% of domestic and/or international travel may be necessary.
