Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Senior Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor to join our team, focusing on a diverse portfolio of projects in the Data Center, Commercial Real Estate, High-Tech, and Manufacturing sectors. This role will involve working on projects of varying complexity and will be integral to our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates and planning, culminating in the presentation of the final cost plan.
  • Conduct estimates at various stages, including conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Assist in feasibility studies and prepare procurement documentation.
  • Oversee all procurement activities, including managing pre-qualification processes, creating bid lists, analyzing bids, and compiling contractual documents.
  • Engage in post-contract cost variance analysis and manage change control processes, escalating significant changes as necessary.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
  • Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  • Contribute to value engineering efforts and negotiate final accounts.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team, ensuring accountability and delivery on all responsibilities.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients and report these to the appropriate line manager.
  • Propose enhancements to cost management procedures, templates, and products for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive technical experience in all aspects of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account processes.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant software.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
  • Experience with various procurement methods and contract forms.
  • Knowledge in advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
Education and Experience:
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing large-scale cost estimates.
  • Proven track record in managing large-scale projects at a program level.
  • Experience in managing costs within the Industrial or Manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
