Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the acquisition and procurement of necessary items to facilitate daily operations within the organization.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Develop and negotiate purchasing agreements and/or procurement programs to ensure optimal value for each acquisition.
  • Identify and source new suppliers as required.
  • Possess a technical understanding of assigned product categories.
  • Stay informed on economic, industrial, and market trends that influence pricing and availability.
  • Maintain and manage planning parameters within a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
  • Oversee the placement, confirmation, and tracking of purchase orders.
  • Generate and analyze reports to assess material requirements in relation to production schedules.
  • Negotiate shipping rates for regional and national contracts in collaboration with the supply chain team.
  • Work with the scheduling department to optimize and enhance shipping and notification systems.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to create cost-effective solutions and documentation for packaging.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Competencies

• 2-3 years of experience in procurement within a manufacturing setting is preferred.

• 2-3 years of experience with ERP systems, particularly in supply chain functions.

• Excellent organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and follow-through.

• Ability to produce accurate, professional, and error-free documentation promptly.

• Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Familiarity with inventory management, contract terms, pricing, purchase orders, blanket orders, and sales data.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain within a manufacturing context; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 5% of domestic and/or international travel may be necessary.
