Position Overview
We are seeking a Production Equipment Specialist to join our Operations Department.
ROLE SUMMARY
This role is essential in supporting our production teams by performing repairs, making operational adjustments, and facilitating machine changeovers for equipment utilized in the manufacturing of both industrial and consumer products.
Successful candidates will have a proven history of diagnosing and resolving issues with industrial production machinery, particularly liquid and powder filling machines, capping machines, labelers, conveyors, electric/pneumatic pumps, and power transmission components.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Adjusting and repairing production and distribution machinery.
- Systematically troubleshooting issues based on quality principles to identify and isolate variables.
- Utilizing knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical principles to execute tasks effectively.
- Responding to production personnel requests to enhance equipment uptime, minimize downtime, and ensure safe and optimal equipment operation.
- Collaborating across departments to refine processes.
- Assisting in training staff on the operation of various production machines, including powered conveyors, filling machines, capping machines, induction sealers, coders, pack-off tables, and taping machines.
- Conducting maintenance tasks according to established procedures to uphold high standards of efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Understanding the importance of maintenance in sustaining a clean and organized work environment as part of the company's safety culture.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing production and building infrastructure systems, including heating, gas, water, security, and electrical systems.
- Fabricating parts and modifying machines using skills in carpentry, metalworking, plumbing, welding, and general mechanical repair.
- Reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Engaging with vendors to identify and procure machine parts, equipment assemblies, and supplies as needed.
Adhering to all safety protocols for the operation of powered production equipment, hand tools, and maintenance shop equipment.
