Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Estimator to oversee a diverse range of large-scale, mission-critical projects in commercial real estate and infrastructure for our key clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver detailed estimates and cost planning, culminating in the presentation of the final cost plan.
  • Capable of estimating at various stages: conceptual, programming, and detailed.
  • Assist in feasibility studies and the preparation of procurement reports.
  • Manage all procurement activities, including pre-qualification, bid list creation, bid analysis, and contract documentation.
  • Engage in post-contract cost variance management and change control processes, referring significant changes to the line manager as necessary.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring a timely and precise cost checking and valuation process.
  • Prepare monthly post-contract cost reports for client presentation.
  • Contribute to value engineering efforts and negotiate final accounts.
  • Maintain communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability for all deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients and report these to the appropriate line manager.
  • Propose enhancements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, directing ideas to the relevant line manager.
Qualifications:
  • Strong technical experience in all areas of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant software.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various construction procurement methods.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Familiarity with key aspects of business development.
  • Broad knowledge and experience across multiple industry sectors.
Education and Experience:
  • Proven experience in preparing mechanical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing mechanical or MEP estimates on large-scale data centers, high-tech facilities, manufacturing sites, or similar construction projects is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems as they pertain to construction.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems.
