Job Overview: Supply Chain Materials Specialist

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a dedicated Supply Chain Materials Specialist to join a dynamic team in the medical manufacturing sector. This role is essential for ensuring the seamless procurement of materials and services vital for managing product backlogs and optimizing supply chain efficiency.

Compensation: $60,000-$70,000

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, with flexible scheduling options available.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Source necessary materials and services from approved vendors, implementing strategies to enhance supply chain operations, address shortages, and foster supplier relationships.
  • Acquire materials, components, and equipment as directed for integration into production schedules.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of incoming and existing materials throughout the purchasing and production cycles.
  • Expedite orders as required, identifying and resolving actual and potential delivery challenges, while keeping management informed.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure data accuracy in the MRP system, including Purchase Orders, part numbers, BOMs, and component costs, reporting any discrepancies to management.
  • Utilize MRP reports for timely ordering of production components.
  • Maintain established freight and handling costs.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison among Purchasing, Production Control, Receiving, Shipping, Quality Control, and Assembly Operations Management.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in purchasing, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in purchasing, ERP systems, or materials planning.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various business documents, including Purchase Orders, SOPs, technical procedures, and production schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining system data to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
  • Proficient in mathematical calculations relevant to the role.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse departments and backgrounds.
Physical Requirements:This position involves access to all areas of the facility to monitor order progress and may require occasional reaching, stooping, and lifting of light office materials. Reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable the employee to perform essential job functions.
