Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire business development process – from identifying, negotiating, and finalizing commercial agreements with both emerging and established technology firms, with a concentrated focus on payment infrastructure, fintech, and payment solutions.
  • Engage with both local and international technology and fintech ecosystems to pinpoint potential collaborators, initiate outreach, and spearhead or assist in commercial or strategic partnership ventures.
  • Formulate and implement customized as well as standardized partnership frameworks, collaborating closely with Visa's global and regional product leaders, as well as relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Co-create market entry strategies, identifying avenues to deploy Visa's products and solutions that yield mutual benefits for Visa and its ecosystem.
  • Support local teams in the negotiation and execution of commercial contracts with fintech clients.
  • Act as the primary liaison between partners and internal stakeholders on ongoing account discussions and for key focus areas.
  • Establish, cultivate, and enhance ecosystem relationships to foster increased preference for Visa's products and solutions, including thought leadership initiatives that may involve publications or speaking engagements.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a hybrid model. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to alternate between remote work and office attendance, typically 2-3 days a week, as determined by leadership and business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Basic Requirements: A minimum of 10 years of professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or at least 8 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD), or a minimum of 3 years of experience with a PhD.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree, or 6+ years of experience with a PhD.
  • A strong interest in the FinTech and/or digital commerce sectors.
  • Extensive experience, ideally in business development, product innovation, partnership management, or within FinTech (or similar startups).
  • Ability to operate swiftly, reflecting the pace of startups, and convey that urgency to other teams.
  • Resilience and capability to work independently in a dynamic environment with multiple clients and within a matrix organization.
  • A strong drive for business success.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the FinTech landscape, with the ability to communicate effectively with fintechs, lenders, and marketplaces, understanding their metrics and concerns.
  • Knowledge of banking and FinTech regulations.
  • Willingness to learn and collaborate, with the ability to navigate through various disciplines and organizational groups.
  • Team-oriented, client-focused, collaborative, diplomatic, and possessing an entrepreneurial mindset, with a readiness to challenge the status quo.
  • A Bachelor's degree is mandatory.

Additional Information:

  • Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
  • Travel Requirements: This role necessitates travel approximately 20-25% of the time.
  • Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office environment, requiring the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and via telephone, and frequently operate standard office equipment, such as computers and telephones.
