Job Summary

The WorkPlace is a leading organization in workforce development, dedicated to strengthening the workforce and driving economic growth. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retention Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet with customers to evaluate their skills, establish employment goals, and identify additional services needed to reach those goals.
  • Enter data to record referrals, activity start/end dates, case notes, and update employment information.
  • Maintain close contact with customers who are not currently in training or active job search, utilizing various methods to pursue information regarding their current status.
  • Recommend case closure for customers who are successfully employed or those who are no longer accessible or willing to participate.
  • Address barriers to work, such as transportation, housing, childcare, and family issues, through intervention and referrals.
  • Develop individual support and retention plans for each participant, following program graduates for two years post-placement.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group case management and career advancement strategies to participants.
  • Develop and arrange workshops, classes, and events for program alumni.
  • Maintain linkages with supervisors and solicit feedback about participants' work.
  • Follow-up on closed cases quarterly for one year after exit, and update outcomes.
Requirements
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information, and apply new knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and customers.
  • Ability to interface with a diverse population.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or Business, and two years of experience in a related field, or a minimum of five years of work experience with transferable skills.

Computer Skills

Ability to understand advanced computer skills and be proficient in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and data management systems.
