Lead Brand Strategy Manager

Kelly Services is collaborating with a leading consumer goods manufacturer to find a contract/temporary Lead Brand Strategy Manager with experience in consumer products.
Position Overview
The Lead Brand Strategy Manager plays a critical role in bridging traditional marketing with comprehensive management practices. This position will focus on supporting the brand strategy for a key product portfolio while managing the associated financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate strategic marketing planning for the brand, identifying and driving essential initiatives to enhance business performance.
- Oversee the research, development, positioning, and market introduction of new products and enhancements across various channels.
- Develop, implement, and assess advertising and promotional strategies to boost sales and brand recognition for the designated product line.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, addressing any discrepancies in budget and future commitments.
Core Duties
1. Strategic Business Management
- Responsible for aligning strategies with the leadership team to enhance profitability and meet market objectives.
- Coordinate resources and lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives.
- Act as a financial steward for product lines, ensuring optimal decision-making in cross-functional contexts.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to manage performance and navigate challenges to achieve business goals.
- Utilize market data and competitive insights to identify opportunities and assess product viability.
2. Market Development
- Continuously monitor market dynamics, customer behaviors, and competitor activities that could impact business performance.
- Identify potential market opportunities and risks, evaluating their financial implications and justifying necessary investments.
- Implement commercialization strategies to ensure the organization meets its growth objectives.
- Establish and report on performance metrics, addressing any gaps in budget and commitments.
3. Brand Equity Management
- Leverage consumer insights to drive brand initiatives, product development, and strategic direction.
- Contribute to the creation of a clear brand vision, positioning, and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop tools that effectively communicate brand value.
- Lead the creation of advertising and communication strategies that justify premium pricing.
- Measure brand performance and implement strategies for improvement to enhance customer experience.
4. Innovation and Product Management
- Support the execution of product and packaging innovation plans to drive portfolio growth.
- Manage go-to-market strategies for various innovation initiatives.
- Oversee all phases of innovation projects, from ideation to market launch.
- Manage the product portfolio in alignment with strategic objectives and market demands.
5. Pricing Strategy and Financial Planning
- Provide strategic direction in collaboration with the pricing team to develop effective pricing strategies.
- Integrate pricing plans into overall product strategies.
- Work with finance and sales teams to forecast and analyze the impact of pricing decisions on business performance.
6. Budgeting and Forecasting
- Participate in business planning meetings, providing insights on market drivers affecting forecasts.
- Review and adjust budget forecasts based on market trends and growth initiatives.
Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years in marketing, with at least 2 years in consumer products.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong business acumen with proven marketing and management skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage both internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in launching new products across various sales channels is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in market analysis and strategic thinking.
- Experience with market research tools is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
