Kelly Services is collaborating with a leading Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturer to find a contract Senior Associate Brand Manager. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in CPG and offers a temporary opportunity.

Position Overview

The Senior Associate Brand Manager is responsible for merging traditional marketing strategies with general management practices. This position will focus on supporting brand requirements for a designated portfolio while managing the associated profit and loss (P&L).

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing Planning: Assist in the marketing strategy development for the brand, identifying and implementing key initiatives to enhance business performance.
  • Product Development: Lead the research, development, positioning, and launch of new products and enhancements across various channels.
  • Advertising and Promotion: Create, execute, and evaluate advertising strategies to boost sales and brand recognition for the assigned product range.
  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators, addressing any discrepancies in budget and future commitments.

Essential Functions

  1. Business Strategy & Execution: Collaborate with leadership to align on strategies that enhance profitability and meet market objectives.
  2. Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate resources and lead teams to implement strategic initiatives effectively.
  3. P&L Management: Serve as a steward for product profitability in cross-functional decision-making processes.
  4. Market Analysis: Utilize market data and competitive insights to identify opportunities and inform product strategies.

Business Development:

  1. Monitor market trends and customer behavior to identify potential impacts on business performance.
  2. Evaluate market opportunities and risks, estimating their impact on P&L.
  3. Oversee commercialization efforts to ensure alignment with growth commitments.

Brand Equity Management:

  1. Leverage consumer insights to drive brand initiatives and product strategies.
  2. Develop a clear brand vision and positioning to guide marketing efforts.

Innovation Management:

  1. Support the execution of product innovation plans to foster portfolio growth.
  2. Manage the lifecycle of innovation projects from conception to market launch.

Pricing Strategy:

  1. Collaborate with pricing teams to optimize pricing strategies for product lines.
  2. Forecast and assess the impact of pricing decisions on overall business performance.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

  1. Participate in business planning meetings to provide insights on market drivers affecting forecasts.
  2. Review and adjust budget forecasts based on market trends and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree is required; an MBA is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years in marketing, with at least 2 years in consumer marketing within the CPG sector.

Skills:

  • Strong business acumen with expertise in marketing and strategic planning.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive product launches.
  • Experience with market analysis tools and methodologies.
