Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Strategist to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide complex, strategic HR guidance to university leaders and establish effective relationships with unit leaders to ensure unit HR goals are achieved and aligned with organizational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HR guidance and support to university leaders and unit leaders to ensure effective HR practices and policies are implemented.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with unit leaders to ensure unit HR goals are achieved and aligned with organizational initiatives.
  • Act as an advocate for employees and management, fostering accountability and collaboration throughout the organization.
  • Partner with HR colleagues in HR Centers of Excellence and other University partners to ensure value-added and integrated service to UVM employees.
  • Provide guidance and support for labor-related items, including union experience and employment laws.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of HR experience in a professional role, with union experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team and with diverse populations.
  • SPHR/PHR certification preferred.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary range of $64,000-$74,000.
  • A 4-month probationary period for external candidates.
  • A background check required for this position.
