The Financial and Human Resources Specialist divides their responsibilities between accounting functions and human resources duties. Accounting Responsibilities

The Accounting Specialist is tasked with maintaining the organization's financial records and ensuring accurate documentation of financial transactions in the general ledger. Key duties include:

  • Processing vendor payments in accordance with due dates and maximizing early payment discounts.
  • Monitoring expenditures for capitalization in line with company policies.
  • Conducting monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Regularly reviewing financial statements for discrepancies.
  • Overseeing the inventory reconciliation process consistently.
  • Timely recording of revenue and sales transactions.
  • Daily reconciliation of cash accounts.
  • Managing bi-weekly payroll processing.
Human Resources Responsibilities

The Employee Relations Coordinator ensures that all employees have a positive experience with the organization's policies and benefits. Key responsibilities include:

  • Onboarding: Facilitating a comprehensive onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they understand the employee manual and key legal aspects.
  • Employee Records Management: Maintaining accurate employee records and conducting regular performance reviews.
  • Benefits Administration: Overseeing compliance with benefits programs, including 401k and insurance protocols, and managing annual open enrollment.
  • Conflict Resolution: Acting as a neutral party to assist employees with grievances that cannot be resolved directly.
  • Performance Management: Supporting performance improvement plans and ensuring fair treatment in corrective actions and terminations.
  • Offboarding: Managing the exit process for departing employees to ensure it is handled professionally and consistently.
Qualifications

For Accounting:

  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, along with strong analytical and organizational skills. A bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred, or a minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on projects, meeting deadlines effectively.

For Human Resources:

  • Empathy and the ability to balance employee interests with organizational needs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in conflict management and benefits administration.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
