Position Summary

The Patient Account Specialist at Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry collaborates with patients and insurance providers to ensure accurate and complete fee collection in line with our Insurance Agreements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient accounts receivable and collections for designated locations
  • Conduct account audits to verify accuracy in balances, collections, and billing
  • Review and confirm patient statements
  • Identify daily copays that require collection
  • Address and resolve patient billing inquiries and issues
  • Identify patients with overdue balances and initiate appropriate collection processes
  • Communicate with patients regarding past due balances through letters and phone calls
  • Provide general support for Revenue Cycle operations as needed
  • Resubmit insurance claims as necessary for patient resolution
  • Process patient refund requests
  • Act as a liaison between the centralized revenue cycle department and office operations to enhance collaboration and process efficiency
  • Manage additional revenue cycle projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Accounts Receivable or Collections is required
  • Preferred 2+ years in Dental Accounts Receivable, Collection, or Billing
  • Proficient in computer applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Organized with effective workload prioritization and follow-through
  • Ability to accurately interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements
  • Demonstrated independent thinking and sound judgment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Team-oriented approach to responsibilities
  • Dependable and prompt in performance
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information
  • Excellent listening skills for clarification and effective communication
  • Familiarity with Dental Practice Management Software (Denticon) is a plus

Language and Communication Skills:

  • Exceptional telephone communication skills with the ability to engage clearly with patients and team members in person and over the phone
