Position Overview

Role Summary:

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in orchestrating various HR functions, with a primary focus on talent acquisition and onboarding processes. Your responsibilities will also encompass employee relations, compliance, performance management, workers' compensation, employee engagement, training, unemployment matters, and the administration of diverse compensation and benefits programs.
  • Manage the recruitment and hiring process for designated positions, overseeing everything from job requisition to onboarding, including updating job descriptions, sourcing candidates, and implementing effective posting strategies.
  • Supervise the employee referral initiative.
  • Ensure that all new hires embody the highest caliber of talent and align with VBC's core values.
  • Collaborate with the Senior HR Business Partner to facilitate a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Partner with business leaders and the Senior HR Business Partner on HR initiatives and projects aimed at enhancing business performance.
  • Provide daily support to employees on a range of HR topics, fostering positive employee relations.
  • Design and implement employee recognition and engagement programs.
  • Work with HRIS (ADP) and Payroll to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of employee payroll and data.
  • Oversee and process Workers' Compensation, Unemployment claims, and leaves of absence in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Assist with the execution of performance reviews and benefit enrollment processes.
  • Collaborate with managers to address performance management challenges, offering guidance and coaching as necessary.
  • Support the Senior HR Business Partner with various HR projects and events.
Candidate Profile

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Generalist experience, preferably within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Extensive experience in talent acquisition with a solid understanding of strategic and innovative sourcing methods.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is highly advantageous.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with effective presentation capabilities.
  • Strong networking, social media, and internet proficiency.
  • Exceptional time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks based on business requirements.
  • Proven experience in cultivating strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
