We are seeking a qualified Portfolio Manager to join our team. The Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role in managing client relationships within the commercial banking sector. This position is integral to the deal team, overseeing the entire process from origination to ongoing management. The Portfolio Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by successfully closing new business opportunities and enhancing existing relationships through exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and underwrite commercial loans, including direct deals and syndications.
  2. Assess credit risk and make independent decisions regarding an assigned portfolio of client relationships.
  3. Accountable for managing and servicing a portfolio while adhering to the bank's risk appetite and policies.
  4. Analyze financial statements, address industry risks, monitor collateral requirements, and assist in loan structuring and pricing.
  5. Prepare reports on loan performance, including past dues, documentation exceptions, and portfolio profitability.
  6. Deliver outstanding customer service, participate in sales calls with Relationship Managers, and identify client needs.
  7. Stay informed about financial and market trends impacting the portfolio and analyze their potential effects.
  8. Support bankers with new and existing loan requests and special projects as needed.
  9. Senior-level candidates may oversee Analysts and Loan Specialists.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, along with 4+ years of experience in banking, relationship management, underwriting, or credit analysis. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  2. Proficient understanding of various loan types, credit analysis, financial statement evaluation, and risk assessment.
  3. Familiarity with banking products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  4. Strong credit skills in underwriting, financial modeling, and adherence to policies.
  5. Excellent customer service, relationship management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  8. Proficient in various software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
