We are seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager to join our team. The Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager plays a crucial role within the deal team, effectively managing commercial banking relationships. This position is integral to the entire deal lifecycle, from origination through to ongoing management. The Portfolio Manager contributes to revenue growth by successfully establishing new business relationships and enhancing existing ones, all while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and underwrite commercial loans, ranging from direct transactions to syndications.
  2. Manage credit risk and make independent decisions regarding an assigned portfolio of relationships.
  3. Accountable for overseeing and servicing a portfolio in alignment with the bank's risk appetite and policies.
  4. Analyze financial statements, assess industry risks, monitor collateral requirements, and ensure proper loan structuring and pricing.
  5. Prepare reports on loan performance, including past dues, documentation exceptions, and portfolio profitability.
  6. Deliver excellent customer service, participate in sales meetings with Relationship Managers, and identify client needs.
  7. Stay informed about financial and market trends impacting the portfolio and analyze their implications.
  8. Assist bankers with new and existing loan requests and other special projects.
  9. Senior-level candidates may oversee Analysts and Loan Specialists.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field, along with 4+ years of experience in banking, relationship management, underwriting, or credit analysis.
  2. Proficient understanding of various loan types, credit analysis, financial statement evaluation, and risk assessment.
  3. Familiarity with banking products, services, policies, and regulations.
  4. Strong credit skills in underwriting, financial modeling, and adherence to policies.
  5. Excellent customer service, relationship management, organizational, analytical, and creative problem-solving abilities.
  6. Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Proficient in various software applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
