Position Overview

At JB Consulting Systems, we are dedicated to engaging with the community to combat poverty and provide essential support services. We are currently in search of a qualified Assistant Manager for our community support services. This role requires comfort in working with individuals in recovery and those facing challenges related to substance use. The Assistant Manager will oversee management responsibilities, evaluate client needs, and assist the program manager in creating actionable plans that include attainable steps, while also providing clients with spiritual guidance to facilitate their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Oversight (75%)

  • Efficiently perform facilities management tasks while nurturing positive relationships with clients and team members.
  • Manage unit turnover processes.
  • Coordinate with emergency services when necessary.
  • Monitor maintenance issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Identify and address potentially unsafe conditions proactively.
  • Handle special projects and non-routine cleaning tasks.
  • Ensure proper packing and storage of client belongings.
  • Distribute necessary supplies to clients as required.
  • Perform additional assigned duties as needed.

Client Support and Development (25%)

  • Collaborate with clients to:
    • Implement personalized recovery plans and achieve set objectives.
    • Enhance their independent living skills.
    • Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques to resolve conflicts.
  • Support clients in establishing recovery goals, including housing searches and accessing health-related services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services or a related field; a combination of lived experience and education may be considered.
  • Comfortable in a faith-based work environment.
  • Proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks effectively.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working with diverse populations.
  • Excellent customer service skills are essential.
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Committed to fostering open communication.
  • Emotionally resilient and able to manage stress effectively.
  • Strong ethical standards and stewardship of resources.
  • Experience working with diverse populations is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work safely and effectively.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Frequent transitions between sitting and moving throughout the facility.
