Role of the Technical Consultant

The Technical Consultant is instrumental in delivering the WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite (including Time, Scheduling, Integrations, etc.) tailored to resolve the unique business challenges faced by each client. Collaborating with Global Services project teams, the consultant ensures that the WFS Suite products developed align with customer needs and are successfully delivered by configuring the software according to documented workforce management requirements and validating expected outcomes. This role involves coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the development process of the Workforce Software Suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure the WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite according to client business requirements using JavaScript, HTML, or other scripting tools.
  • Support the confirmation and refinement of business requirements during client meetings and workshops.
  • Understand the configuration requirements of WorkForce Software products, including naming conventions and their impact on databases.
  • Grasp project scope and implementation strategies for assigned projects.
  • Continuously enhance skills in WorkForce Software Product solutions by staying updated with the latest enhancements.
  • Address complex issues related to administration and configuration.
  • Communicate challenges and seek guidance promptly.
  • Develop complex formulas utilizing mathematical and programming skills.
  • Conduct unit and system testing of configured applications to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Facilitate client workshops, demonstrating best practices in the implementation of Workforce Management Software.
  • Identify and escalate out-of-scope requirements and delays to project managers or senior team members.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Participate actively in team meetings.
  • Follow established processes and continuously improve skills as guided by Application Consultant Competency Team Leaders.
  • Accurately estimate work efforts and provide status updates to project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with all internal teams during project phases to ensure successful customer implementation.
  • Assist clients with software testing and rollout activities.
  • Mentor others on labor laws and their implications for employers and employees.
  • Respond to customer requirements professionally and promptly.
  • Engage in training and self-learning to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain necessary WFS Product Suite certifications.
  • Consider customer needs in strategic planning.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate problems to appropriate technical experts.
  • Track billable and non-billable project hours.
  • Apply professional concepts and company policies to deliver WFS solutions.
  • Work on project implementation assignments while adhering to standard practices.
  • Assist in mentoring team members.
  • Understand various project management methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with SQL and writing simple to moderate queries.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with JavaScript, HTML, or other scripting tools.
  • Experience in HCM functional domains and business processes.
  • Familiarity with business applications such as Excel or DBMS systems.
  • Logical and technical mindset for problem analysis and root cause identification.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of implementation principles and lifecycle.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and adaptability to new circumstances.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, customer-focused team and build strong working relationships.
  • Strong desire for technical and professional growth.
  • Familiarity with HR, Payroll, or Workforce Management is a plus.
  • Preferred experience in providing application support for complex software systems.
  • Programming experience in Java, C#, C++, or 4GL languages is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with report writers such as Crystal Reports, Cognos, or Actuate is preferred.
  • Experience in SQL report creation.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel may be necessary based on project assignments.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business Administration, MIS, or Computer Science.
