Role of the Technical Consultant

The Technical Consultant is pivotal in delivering the WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite, addressing the specific business challenges faced by our clients. Collaborating with Global Services project teams, the consultant ensures that the WFS Suite products align with customer needs and are successfully implemented by configuring the software to meet documented workforce management requirements and validating outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure the WorkForce Software (WFS) Suite (Time, Scheduling, Integrations, etc.) based on client business requirements using JavaScript, HTML, or other scripting tools.
  • Support the clarification and refinement of business requirements through client meetings and workshops.
  • Understand product configuration requirements, including naming conventions and their impact on databases.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WorkForce Software Product solutions and enhancements.
  • Address complex administrative and configuration challenges effectively.
  • Communicate any roadblocks promptly and seek guidance as necessary.
  • Develop complex formulas utilizing mathematical and programming skills.
  • Conduct unit and system testing of configured applications to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Facilitate client workshops, demonstrating best practices in workforce management software implementation.
  • Identify and escalate out-of-scope requirements and delays to project management.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines.
  • Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide accurate work effort estimates and status updates to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams during project phases to ensure successful implementation.
  • Assist clients with software testing and go-live activities, including data loads and system initialization.
  • Mentor colleagues on labor laws and their implications for employers and employees.
  • Respond to customer requirements professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Engage in ongoing training and self-learning to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain necessary WFS Product Suite certifications.
  • Consider customer needs in strategic planning.
  • Troubleshoot issues and escalate problems to technical experts as needed.
  • Track project hours accurately, both billable and non-billable.
  • Apply professional concepts and company policies to deliver effective WFS solutions.
  • Work on project implementation assignments following standard practices.
  • Assist in mentoring team members and understanding various project management methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with SQL and ability to write simple to moderate queries.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with JavaScript, HTML, or other scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with HCM functional domains and business processes.
  • Proficient in business applications such as Excel or DBMS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with a logical and technical mindset.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of implementation principles and lifecycle.
  • Ability to exercise mature judgment in decision-making.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a customer-focused team environment.
  • Desire for professional growth in both technical and consulting capacities.
  • Background in HR, Payroll, or Workforce Management is a plus.
  • Experience providing application support for complex software systems is preferred.
  • Programming experience in Java, C#, C++, or 4GL languages is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with report writing tools such as Crystal Reports or Cognos is preferred.
  • Experience in SQL report creation is beneficial.

Travel Requirements

  • Travel may be necessary based on project assignments.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business Administration, MIS, or Computer Science.
