Role Overview:

We are in search of skilled Cybersecurity and Technical Support professionals for a full-time role as an IT Cybersecurity Support Technician - Tier 2. This position entails providing technical assistance for desktop and network environments, including workstations, servers, printers, and vendor-specific hardware and software. Daily interactions with clients and thorough documentation of efforts are essential components of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide IT support for common technical issues related to Microsoft’s core business applications (e.g., MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Assist with backup solutions and processes.
  • Deliver technical support at the network level, including WAN and LAN connectivity, firewalls, and security measures.
  • Support applications through installation, configuration, migration, and troubleshooting of both proprietary and third-party software.
  • Address malware, spam, and antivirus issues on desktops, and remediate cybersecurity concerns as necessary.

Communication Skills:

  • Exhibit strong communication skills when engaging with external clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Effectively articulate complex security concepts.

Monitoring and Investigation:

  • Monitor and analyze event logs for suspicious activities.
  • Identify potential security incidents and respond promptly.

Threat Analysis:

  • Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments to evaluate risks.
  • Recommend mitigation strategies based on findings.

Incident Handling:

  • Investigate, document, and report any information security issues.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to effectively address incidents.

Cyber Threat Understanding:

  • Maintain familiarity with prevalent cyber threats, including malware, phishing, DDoS attacks, and more.
  • Stay informed about the evolving threat landscape.

SIEM and Tool Proficiency:

  • Utilize and understand Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
  • Leverage SIEM data for threat detection and incident response.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as EDR, MXDR, SASE, IDS, and vulnerability scanners.

Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving abilities, especially under pressure.
  • Prioritize and address security incidents in a timely manner.

Effective Communication:

  • Present security findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to Detail:

  • Maintain strong attention to detail when analyzing security data.
  • Organize findings and create comprehensive reports.

Collaboration:

  • Work independently on security tasks while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in configuring and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls.
  • 2+ years of experience with VMware and Hyper-V.
  • 2+ years of experience with enterprise backup solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with IPSEC and SSL VPN.
  • 2+ years of experience with NAT and PAT.
  • 2+ years of experience in ransomware mitigation and device hardening.
  • Moderate understanding of certificates and Certificate Authorities.
  • Moderate understanding of subnetting and network addressing.
  • Ability to evaluate, size, and design servers and storage solutions.
  • Capability to identify and recommend hardware and software upgrades for existing clients.
