POSITION OVERVIEW
The ideal candidate will be situated in the Livonia, MI region. The main duty of this role is to deliver technical assistance and prepare as well as present product demonstrations alongside the US Sales team and clients. This position will also involve coordinating and addressing technical inquiries in collaboration with both Japanese and US Engineering teams. The role will report to the Automotive Sales Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the primary advanced technical resource for the Sales team and Hirose clients.
  • Engage directly with clients regarding all application support inquiries, performance specifications, data requests, and new product development initiatives.
  • Assist in enhancing the Sales team's technical engagement within significant customer accounts.
  • Comprehend customer technology trends and summarize these insights for internal sharing.
  • Analyze customer applications and competitor products through teardown analysis and measurements, then compile reports.
  • Support technology and product demonstrations as requested by the Sales team.
  • Possess knowledge of electrical equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Establish relationships with cable and harness manufacturers.
  • Contribute to sales promotion activities, including participation in exhibitions and creation of sales materials.

COMMUNICATION AND INTERACTION

  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills across all departments and with clients.
  • Exhibit strong presentation abilities for both internal and client meetings.
  • Maintain a proactive, creative approach with a sense of urgency in addressing client requests.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred experience of 5+ years in a related field.
  • Exceptional communication, presence, and presentation skills for collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to lead projects effectively.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with CRM software is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude, proactive mindset, and strong work ethic as a team player.
  • Cross-cultural work experience, particularly with Japanese companies, is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with Hirose Japan Sales and Engineering teams as required.
  • Self-motivated with a positive demeanor and high energy levels.
  • A solid engineering aptitude with the capability to convey technical solutions and a comprehensive understanding of all Hirose product lines is essential for addressing and resolving client-related issues.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to various customer R&D locations, which may include international travel.
  • Must have authorization to work in the US without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
