The role of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Supervisor is pivotal in overseeing the construction and assembly of wastewater treatment plants. This position requires a hands-on leader who will manage field personnel and ensure the successful execution of projects involving the fabrication and erection of steel structures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the construction of tanks, installation of equipment, and piping to establish a fully operational wastewater treatment facility in accordance with technical specifications.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Field Operations Manager to receive guidance and updates.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of project progress.
  • Lead and mentor a team of 4-6+ employees, contractors, and inspectors, promoting adherence to company policies and safety standards.
  • Oversee project timelines and documentation, promptly addressing any discrepancies from the project plans.
  • Proactively identify and communicate necessary adjustments to project management.
  • Champion job safety for all personnel on-site, conducting weekly safety meetings and providing training as needed.
  • Maintain and care for company vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform additional job-related tasks as required.
  • Act as a working supervisor, willing to engage in welding tasks as necessary.
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings effectively.
  • Enforce safety policies and ensure compliance with company expectations regarding quality, attitude, and responsibility.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in welding with the ability to pass a certified welding examination.
  • Familiarity with Operations and Maintenance Procedures.
  • Strong record-keeping skills related to job requirements.
  • Possession of a valid state driver’s license with an insurable driving record.
  • Crane certifications and a CDL license are advantageous but not mandatory.
Education and Experience:
  • A background in construction education with two years of practical field experience or five years in a related construction role, particularly in tank and plant erection, piping, and equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong listening abilities and a self-starter attitude.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with personnel at all levels.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this position include:
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and handle equipment/tools.
  • Capability to work at various heights using ladders and scaffolding.
  • Flexibility to work in different positions including standing, sitting, crouching, or kneeling.
  • Regularly lifting and transporting loads up to 75 lbs.
  • Frequent travel within and outside the state as required.
Working Environment:

The work environment includes:
  • Primarily outdoor settings around mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment.
  • Climbing and working in confined spaces.
  • Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, including welding fumes and extreme weather.
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
