POSITION SUMMARY

The City of Houston is seeking a dedicated and experienced individual for the role of Wastewater Operations Supervisor. This position is integral to overseeing the efficient operation of our wastewater management services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Direct and coordinate the activities of maintenance teams responsible for Collection Systems, Wastewater Treatment Plants, and Lift Stations.
- Organize and delegate tasks to maintenance crews, ensuring that all operations are conducted smoothly and efficiently.
- Monitor ongoing work to guarantee that all employees are equipped with the necessary supplies and functional equipment.
- Analyze and resolve operational challenges related to staff and equipment.
- Review and suggest improvements to operational policies and procedures to enhance overall efficiency.
- Provide training and mentorship to new staff members.
- Maintain accurate records of employee attendance and performance evaluations.
- Prepare production reports as needed and assist with daily operational tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

This role involves physical activity, including lifting moderately heavy items and walking on uneven surfaces. The position may also require exposure to varying weather conditions and environmental factors.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A high school diploma or GED is required, with basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, and mathematics.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience in maintenance operations is essential. A Bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for experience.
- A valid Texas Driver's License is required.

PREFERENCES

Preference will be given to qualified veteran applicants who meet the necessary qualifications for this position.
