Key Responsibilities- Supervise the construction of tanks, installation of equipment, and piping systems to create fully operational wastewater treatment plants, adhering to all specifications and blueprints.
- Maintain open communication with the Field Operations Manager to receive guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all project activities.
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-6+ employees, contractors, and inspectors, promoting adherence to company policies and safety standards.
- Monitor project timelines and ensure compliance with construction schedules, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
- Proactively identify and report any necessary adjustments to project management.
- Champion job safety initiatives, conducting weekly safety meetings and training sessions for staff.
- Maintain and care for company vehicles and equipment.
- Perform additional duties as required to support project goals.
- Act as a working supervisor, willing to engage in welding tasks as needed, while exemplifying the company's ethical standards and integrity.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings effectively.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring all team members understand their responsibilities regarding safety and quality.
- Proficient in welding techniques with the ability to pass a certified welding examination.
- Understanding of Operations and Maintenance Procedures.
- Strong record-keeping skills related to job requirements.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record that meets company insurance criteria.
- Crane certifications and CDL license are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
- Formal education in construction with a minimum of two years of practical field experience, or five years of relevant experience in construction, particularly in tank and plant erection, piping, and equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong listening abilities and a self-starter attitude.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels.
The physical demands of this position include:
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and hold equipment/tools, and work at various heights using ladders and scaffolding.
- Regularly bending, stooping, and moving between different levels, with the capacity to lift loads up to 50 lbs and transport loads up to 75 lbs.
- Frequent travel may be required, including potential overnight stays.
- Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing regulations.
This position primarily involves outdoor work in environments with mechanical, industrial, and electrical equipment. The role may require climbing equipment and working in confined spaces, as well as exposure to hazardous conditions such as welding fumes and extreme weather.
