Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and driven Project Manager to oversee our Water/Wastewater Practice. This role will be based in our Houston office and will involve managing a diverse range of projects from initial planning through to construction completion. The scope of work includes various water-related projects such as supply systems, treatment facilities, and distribution networks, as well as wastewater management projects including treatment plant design and rehabilitation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, and contracts.
- Ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion, monitoring schedules and financials throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead project teams, assigning tasks and coordinating schedules, including conducting project kick-off and status meetings.
- Provide mentorship and performance feedback to project team members.
- Maintain quality assurance processes to ensure task accuracy.
- Identify and address technical, scheduling, or financial challenges through effective communication.
- Assist clients in the bidding process and contractor selection.
- Oversee construction activities and supervise field personnel.
- Manage all aspects of construction administration.
- Coordinate timely invoicing and fee collection.
- Utilize professional judgment to complete engineering tasks in accordance with established criteria.
- Be technically responsible for major design tasks, ensuring they meet client needs.
- Sign and seal engineering documents as an authorized representative.
- Communicate independently with clients on technical matters.
- Promote additional firm services to clients and engage in professional activities related to water and wastewater.
- Contribute to marketing strategies and maintain accurate records of client interactions.
- Identify project opportunities and participate in proposal preparation, including time and cost estimations.
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in water/wastewater engineering.
- Proven ability to market services and manage design and construction projects.
- Current Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required, with the ability to obtain licensure in additional states.
Must maintain a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a driver's license for company-related travel.
