Position Overview:
STV's Houston, TX office is looking for a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Water Practice Group. This role offers the opportunity to engage in the development and execution of water and wastewater projects of various scales. As a Project Engineer, you will be involved in the entire project lifecycle, from initial design through to final construction close-out.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare contract documents, including plans, specifications, and opinions of probable construction costs (OPCCs).
- Conduct hydraulic flow and pressure calculations for pipelines.
- Perform pump calculations and develop system curves for pump sizing.
- Estimate construction and design costs.
- Engage in the planning and design of water and wastewater pipelines, pumping, storage, and treatment systems.
- Oversee the design of water and wastewater facilities, including pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants.
- Participate in project management, client interaction, and business development efforts.
- Conduct site visits during design and construction phases to monitor installation.
- Review construction shop drawings and submittals for adherence to project specifications.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution or NCEES equivalent.
- At least 8 years of experience in water/wastewater projects.
- Experience collaborating with local municipalities and utility companies.
- Texas Professional Engineer (PE) License is required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with other design disciplines.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Capability to work independently.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication.
- Preferred experience in the design of water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities.
- Familiarity with modeling and design software is advantageous.
