Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Director to lead the Procurement and Contract Monitoring and Compliance Divisions within the Career Services department. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, management, and analytical skills to oversee the operations and program design of the divisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management of the Procurement and Contract Monitoring and Compliance Divisions, overseeing the operations and program design of the divisions.
  • Oversee the annual and ad hoc administrative audits on vendors, monitoring and reviewing the implementation of corrective action plans for compliance issues.
  • Liaise with State and Federal officials regarding audits and special projects, working with various agencies to address provider and vendor risk.
  • Collaborate with key Career Service and HRA staff to develop and implement operational workflows, audit tools, program monitoring, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare executive operational reports and dashboards, including key performance indicators, metrics analysis, and summaries.
Requirements
  • A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business, or public administration, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget administration, management, or a related area, with 18 months of executive, managerial, administrative, or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the procurement process, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to handle multiple activities concurrently.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience conducting fieldwork and supervising fieldwork staff.
  • Strong leadership skills, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and motivated to learn new skills and take on special assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a government, nonprofit, or human services setting.
  • Experience working with contracts/contracted vendors.
  • Project management experience.

The City of New York offers a competitive salary range and a comprehensive benefits package. New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment, but City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
