About the Opportunity:

The ideal candidate will possess significant expertise in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, and supply chain management, particularly within the maritime or transportation sectors. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple suppliers and vendors are essential. The Procurement Supervisor will be responsible for implementing cost-effective strategies to maintain optimal inventory levels to support ongoing and future initiatives. A focus on balancing cost, quality, and timely delivery is critical.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and analyze current products and sourcing methods to enhance efficiency and profitability.
  • Explore traditional sourcing practices within the industry and innovate unconventional strategies to secure a competitive edge.
  • Engage with potential third-party vendors to evaluate their product offerings and pricing structures.
  • Build and sustain relationships with internal stakeholders and key suppliers.
  • Familiarity with online directories promoting the utilization of certified minority and women-owned business enterprises is advantageous.
  • Maintain comprehensive vendor and product documentation, including price lists and correspondence.
  • Request quotes, product information, and samples for both new and existing items.
  • Conduct necessary follow-ups to ensure timely delivery of orders.
  • Place orders based on inventory requirements, customer demands, and special requests.
  • Recommend purchases considering factors such as quantity, pricing, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Input purchase orders into the operating system and communicate with vendors accordingly.
  • Review and approve invoice discrepancies for placed orders.
  • Prepare internal reports and assist with additional projects as required.
  • Deliver a professional level of customer service and maintain a polished appearance.
  • Uphold the company's Environmental, Safety, Security, and Quality standards, collaborating with the HSSQE team to implement relevant systems and controls.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Excel, and other relevant software.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in procurement, sourcing, and operations.
  • Understanding of purchasing and inventory management procedures.
  • Strong negotiation abilities.
