Position Summary: AIMS LOCUM TENENS LLC is in search of proficient Pharmacy Technicians to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical services. The ideal candidates will undertake a range of responsibilities in various pharmacy environments, including inpatient, outpatient, and oncology settings, while ensuring compliance with established standards.


Key Responsibilities:


General Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient reactions to medication therapies and develop treatment plans based on physician diagnoses.
  • Receive and assess prescriptions, including controlled substances, according to the pharmacy formulary.
  • Monitor patient responses to prescribed and over-the-counter medications in line with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any concerns regarding dosages, interactions, or instructions.
  • Prepare inventory orders, manage incoming stock, verify discrepancies, and ensure proper rotation of medications and supplies.
  • Input medication orders into an electronic health record system, checking for allergies, interactions, and duplicate prescriptions.
  • Conduct standard quality checks on finished products, confirming ingredients and labeling to ensure a high-quality pharmaceutical product is dispensed.
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems and medication storage units.

Oncology-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks unique to an oncology pharmacy, including the compounding and dispensing of medications for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
  • Safely manage, prepare, store, and dispose of cytotoxic and hazardous medications.

Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience within the last five (5) years as a pharmacy technician in inpatient, outpatient, or oncology settings.
  • Graduation from an accredited pharmacy technician program recognized by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or equivalent training.
  • Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), or CHPhT.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Adherence to relevant state regulations governing pharmacy practice.
