Position Summary: AIMS LOCUM TENENS LLC is in search of experienced Pharmacy Technicians to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical services. The ideal candidates will engage in a variety of responsibilities across inpatient, outpatient, and oncology pharmacy environments, ensuring compliance with established standards.


Key Responsibilities:


General Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient reactions to prescribed drug therapies and develop medication plans based on physician-determined diagnoses.
  • Process and verify prescriptions, including controlled substances, in accordance with pharmacy protocols.
  • Monitor patient responses to both prescription and over-the-counter medications following established guidelines.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any concerns regarding dosages, interactions, or medication instructions.
  • Manage inventory by preparing orders, receiving shipments, verifying stock, and ensuring proper rotation of medications.
  • Input medication orders into an electronic health record system, checking for allergies, potential interactions, and duplicate prescriptions.
  • Conduct quality control tests on finished pharmaceutical products, confirming ingredients and labeling to ensure safe dispensing.
  • Utilize and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems and medication storage units.

Oncology-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Execute tasks unique to oncology pharmacy, including the preparation and dispensing of chemotherapy medications.
  • Safely manage the handling, storage, and disposal of cytotoxic and hazardous drugs.

Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in an inpatient, outpatient, or oncology pharmacy setting within the last five (5) years.
  • Completion of a pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or equivalent training.
  • Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT), or CHPhT.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Adherence to relevant state regulations governing pharmacy practice.
