Position Summary: AIMS LOCUM TENENS LLC is in search of proficient Pharmacy Technicians to deliver exceptional pharmaceutical services. The ideal candidates will be tasked with a range of responsibilities in outpatient pharmacy environments, ensuring compliance with established standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient reactions to medication and develop therapy plans based on physician diagnoses.
- Process and assess prescriptions, including controlled substances, in accordance with pharmacy protocols.
- Monitor patient responses to both prescription and over-the-counter medications as per established guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any dosing or medication-related inquiries.
- Manage inventory by preparing orders, receiving stock, verifying accuracy, and organizing medication supplies.
- Input medication orders into an electronic health record system, checking for allergies and potential interactions.
- Conduct quality checks on final products, ensuring proper labeling and ingredient verification.
- Utilize and maintain pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing systems.
Specific Duties for Outpatient Pharmacy Technicians:
- Input prescriptions into the outpatient management system, ensuring thorough checks for allergies and interactions.
- Generate package labels, inspect medications for accuracy, and prepare them for pharmacist verification.
- Educate patients on the correct usage of medications, directing complex inquiries to a pharmacist.
- Support the inspection of medication storage areas and uphold the security of pharmaceutical products.
- Assist in the ordering and assessment of laboratory tests to monitor the effects of drug therapies.
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of experience in pharmacy settings within the last five (5) years.
- Completion of a pharmacy technician program accredited by a recognized body or military training equivalent.
- Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or equivalent.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized organization.
- Adherence to relevant state regulations governing pharmacy practice.
