Job Overview:

The Commercial Lines Producer at Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska is responsible for developing and maintaining profitable relationships with commercial insurance clients while expanding the business portfolio through new client acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and pursue commercial insurance opportunities with both new and existing clients through various outreach methods, including face-to-face meetings, digital platforms, phone communications, and written correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and prospects through regular follow-ups, timely quotes, and comprehensive account management. Proactively address and anticipate client needs.
  • Engage in networking events, partnerships, and strategic initiatives to attract new clients and business opportunities.
  • Analyze and report on key performance metrics to ensure sales targets are achieved, while maintaining accurate sales documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, assist in staff development, share expertise, attend meetings, and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions as required.
  • Guide clients through renewal processes, ensuring client retention and fostering long-term relationships.
  • Pursue ongoing education through continuing education activities and stay informed on industry trends, new products, regulations, coverages, and technological advancements to enhance knowledge and performance.
  • Review client audits, correct discrepancies, and manage accounts receivable and billing processes.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess the required insurance license in your state and have a minimum of two years of experience in personal and commercial lines insurance account management, along with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation are essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, rating procedures, underwriting practices, coverages, and industry standards is crucial for securing new business and retaining existing clients.
  • Proven track record in business-to-business sales, with strong presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills, and the ability to effectively close deals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a focus on customer needs, and professional assertiveness in building new client relationships and supporting current clients are necessary.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage complex tasks independently, sound business judgment, effective decision-making capabilities, and superior written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Excellent time management skills, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and proficiency in technology and computer usage, including familiarity with agency management systems, are essential.
