The Customer Service Specialist for Personal & Commercial Lines plays a crucial role in fostering strong client relationships by addressing inquiries and concerns related to personal and commercial insurance coverage with efficiency and professionalism. This position involves daily interactions with clients, insurance providers, and team members while executing specific service and marketing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to client inquiries via phone and written communication regarding new or existing insurance policies and manage all claims effectively.
- Engage with potential clients to assess their needs, gather essential information, explore policy options, present tailored solutions, finalize and secure new coverage, cancel outdated policies, and negotiate with insurance carriers as required.
- Schedule appointments or client discussions to review current policies, adjust liability limits, assess additional coverage needs, evaluate replacement costs, and facilitate policy renewals.
- Provide clients with comprehensive information about products and services, quote new business, manage renewals or cancellations, process payments, and supply necessary documentation.
- Proactively seek opportunities to enhance coverage or expand accounts during every service interaction.
- Address product or service concerns by clarifying the client's issue, identifying the root cause, selecting and explaining the most effective solution, expediting corrections or adjustments, and following up to ensure resolution.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and transactions, documenting inquiries, feedback, and actions taken in the agency management system.
- Review policy audits for accuracy and facilitate necessary corrections between clients and carriers.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new product offerings, regulatory changes, coverage options, and technological advancements to enhance knowledge and performance, collaborate with team members, mentor staff, and participate in team meetings as needed.
- Possess the insurance license mandated by your state and have at least two years of experience in personal and commercial lines insurance account management, along with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Exhibit strong knowledge of insurance products, rating and underwriting procedures, coverage options, and industry practices to effectively manage and service assigned clients and prospects.
- Demonstrate a strong customer-centric approach and excellent phone etiquette; possess strong written and verbal communication skills, along with proficient math and reading abilities for accurate calculations.
- Ability to handle challenging customer interactions and resolve complex issues independently.
- Exhibit a strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and effective time management.
