Position Overview

The Fundraising and Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the support network for Wellnest Emotional Health & Wellness. This position is essential for driving fundraising initiatives, managing departmental operations, overseeing database activities, and fostering community relations through various events.

Key Responsibilities:

FUNDRAISING & EVENTS:
  • Plan, execute, and lead annual fundraising initiatives, campaigns, and appeals.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Team to secure sponsorships from corporate and community partners.
  • Maintain an accurate RSVP list for events, ensuring meticulous attention to donor information.
  • Coordinate all logistics related to event planning, execution, follow-up, and donor recognition.
  • Manage community engagement efforts, campaigns, and events.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with vendors, overseeing scopes of work, bidding processes, negotiations, and payments.
DATABASE MANAGEMENT:
  • Oversee fundraising performance metrics from the donor database.
  • Manage prospect pipelines and reporting for Advancement and other purposes.
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Handle gift processing and acknowledgment production.
  • Input donations, pledges, and gifts-in-kind into the constituent relationship management (CRM) system.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
  • Track, report, and recognize in-kind donations in a timely manner.
  • Generate mailing labels for various communications.
  • Create reports for board meetings and donor tracking as needed.
  • Manage mailings, including list creation, printing, and distribution while adhering to deadlines.
  • Assist the VP of Advancement & External Affairs with donor cultivation and stewardship activities.
  • Support all Advancement Department functions and donor relations programs, including annual funds and fundraising events.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business, communications, public policy, or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a nonprofit environment, with proven success in managing large-scale community events.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong commitment to advancing the mission of Wellnest.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) skills are advantageous.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Maintain high ethical and professional standards in accordance with agency policies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage tactfully and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging or sensitive client situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Skilled in engaging with various individuals and groups to achieve established objectives.
Working Conditions:

The role involves both fieldwork and office-based tasks. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required for time-sensitive projects.
