Position Summary:

The Director of Fund Development plays a pivotal role in steering our fundraising initiatives, focusing primarily on identifying grant opportunities, crafting proposals, and nurturing relationships with philanthropic organizations. This position is integral to our mission and reports directly to the Senior Director of External Affairs. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in grant writing and a solid understanding of the non-profit funding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Grant Identification: Research and pinpoint potential funding sources from various local, state, corporate, and national foundations, as well as federal agencies.
  2. Proposal Crafting: Develop, review, and submit persuasive proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Collaborate with senior leadership and program staff to gather essential data and insights to support proposal narratives.
  3. Foundation Engagement: Map out potential foundation partners and cultivate relationships with existing and prospective funders. Conduct outreach through meetings and presentations, ensuring effective communication and updates.
  4. Compliance and Reporting: Oversee adherence to grant requirements and deadlines. Maintain a detailed grants calendar to track submissions and reports, ensuring timely delivery of interim and final reports to funders.
  5. Strategic Fundraising: Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors to devise and implement fundraising strategies that align with the organization's long-term goals.
  6. Stay informed on trends within the non-profit funding landscape to optimize funding strategies.
  7. Provide regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team regarding grant development progress and outcomes.

Qualifications:

  1. A minimum of 7 years of experience in non-profit development, emphasizing grant writing and foundation relations.
  2. Proven success in securing substantial grants from various funding sources.
  3. Exceptional writing and editing capabilities.
  4. Strong research skills with the ability to uncover new funding opportunities.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  6. Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  7. Familiarity with fundraising databases and grant management tools.
  8. A strong commitment to the mission and values of Advancecaregivers.

Compensation:

Salary range: $100,000 - $130,000 annually.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements.
