POSITION SUMMARY:
The Self-Service Checkout Supervisor is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the area is maintained in a clean and safe manner, stocked with the necessary products for our customers. As one of the final points of contact for customers before they exit the store, it is crucial to deliver outstanding service while upholding the company's core values. The individual will strive to ensure customer satisfaction, encouraging repeat visits to Heritage Grocers Group.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage front-end equipment including registers, calculators, and scanners;
  • Oversee self-service checkout stations; exemplify exceptional customer service. Engage with customers consistently;
  • Assist multiple customers simultaneously and proactively address potential issues;
  • Monitor scanning activities to ensure accuracy;
  • Encourage customers to utilize self-service checkout lanes, particularly during busy periods;
  • Commit to meeting the expectations of both internal and external customers. Show empathy and concern for individuals; build and maintain positive relationships within the team and with diverse clientele;
  • Effectively communicate and uphold standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions, and food safety; promote safe work practices among team members;
  • Ensure the presentation of the work area is clean and organized, maintaining a professional appearance;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in customer service and retail is preferred;
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands and work conditions outlined below are essential for successfully executing the primary functions of this role. Some requirements may be adjusted to accommodate individuals with disabilities:
  • WALKING: Required continuously throughout the shift while navigating the store and handling merchandise;
  • STANDING: Required continuously throughout the shift;
  • LIFTING: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. regularly and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
