Job Description:

A Project Manager at HITT Contracting is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing all aspects of a construction project to ensure timely completion, within budget, and to the specified quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain adherence to HITT's safety standards and ensure required documentation is filed.
  • Create and manage project budgets for assigned projects.
  • Develop and collaborate on pre-construction RFP packages.
  • Conduct project meetings, set milestones, and formulate monthly owner reports.
  • Establish job processes, including RFIs, submittals, and pay applications, and approve pay applications and negotiate subcontract change orders.
  • Perform project scheduling, ensure quality control, and establish overall project logistics.
  • Manage the closeout process efficiently.
  • Communicate with customers to discuss their needs and explain how HITT Contracting's services can meet those needs.
  • Supervise assistant operations support roles, including assistant project managers, administrative assistants, MEP managers, and safety team members.
  • Collaborate with project superintendents and site operations teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Previous experience in a project management role with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to master sector/project-specific software systems, including Microsoft Office suite, ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam, and JD Edwards.
  • Mastery of reading construction drawings, including reading, interpreting, and updating construction project-related drawings.
  • Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time, to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Knowledge of current market conditions, including pricing conventions and trends.
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to lead, communicate clearly, and take initiative, while maintaining a positive attitude and passion for construction and the industry.
