Job Summary

The Deputy Clerk I provides clerical support to the Treasurer's Office, performing a variety of tasks including processing documentation, responding to inquiries, and providing customer service. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and related college classwork or previous customer service experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides clerical support for the Treasurer's Office, including processing documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Provides customer service, including answering phone calls and responding to emails.
  • Processes monies received from other county departments and compares payments with statements.
  • Generates printed tapes of monies/checks for bank deposits and balances cash drawers.
  • Issues animal license tags and commercial business licenses, collects payments, and maintains records.
  • Prepares tax bills for mailing, assists in processing address changes, and prepares delinquent real estate tax bills.
  • Performs other assigned duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Related college classwork or previous customer service experience.
Working Conditions

The Deputy Clerk I will work in a sedentary environment, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
