Position Overview:

Our client, a prominent entity in sustainable development with a workforce exceeding 6,000 professionals across more than 100 nations, is in search of a Vice President of Human Resources at the enterprise level. This pivotal role is based in the DMV area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the formulation and execution of comprehensive HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the organization’s strategic objectives.
  • Drive HR transformation initiatives, focusing on the adoption of cutting-edge HR technologies and the development of a Human Capital Management system to enhance operational efficiency and ensure compliance.
  • Lead specialized HR functions that prioritize service delivery in alignment with organizational goals, fostering a culture dedicated to exceptional talent management.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide policies that promote employee engagement and enhance organizational culture, ensuring consistency across various business lines.
  • Navigate the complexities of employment laws and regulations to mitigate legal risks and foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
  • Ensure adherence to Department of Labor regulations and Equal Employment Opportunity standards, including reporting requirements.
  • Play a crucial role in aligning HR resources during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Support Board of Directors in HR-related matters, including compensation and succession planning.
  • Formulate the annual HR division strategy and budget, managing resources effectively to meet programmatic and financial objectives.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with stakeholders to influence policies that support organizational growth.
  • Act as a thought leader in international HR development, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices across the organization.
  • Encourage staff development and performance, ensuring effective management and leadership practices are in place.
  • Foster a collaborative workplace environment that values teamwork and recognizes employee contributions.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is highly preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in HR leadership, with a focus on strategic HR functions.
  • Proven success in leading HR transformation and process optimization through technology.
  • Experience with Human Capital Management systems and Employee Stock Ownership Programs is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex HR and business challenges effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex activities and budgets to achieve desired outcomes.
  • High emotional intelligence, emphasizing empathy and compassion in leadership.

Compensation and Benefits:

The compensation range for this position is between $210,000 to $230,000, commensurate with experience. This role also offers eligibility for a Short-Term Incentive Program up to 15%. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, participation in a 401(k) plan, and generous leave policies.
