Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager to join a reputable Mechanical Contractor. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in construction management, particularly those experienced in commercial mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Project Manager in overseeing and directing all aspects of assigned projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules effectively.
  • Estimate and manage change orders.
  • Assist in the negotiation of change orders and maintain accurate logs.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to monitor the project budget and authorize expenditures.
  • Handle contract administration tasks.
  • Facilitate the buyout process for subcontracts and equipment.
  • Engage with project owners on all assigned tasks.
  • Compile and maintain comprehensive project documentation and close-out materials.
  • Assist in conducting project punch-list inspections in coordination with the superintendent and the Owner's Representative, and issue punch lists to relevant subcontractors.
  • Manage the submittal process efficiently.
  • Respond to or generate Requests for Information (RFIs) as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish timelines and manage budgets.
  • Experience in cost estimation and negotiation.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Capability to lead effective, multi-disciplinary meetings.
  • Demonstrated record of career stability and success in project management is essential.
  • Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager on large-scale projects.
