Role Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Web Software Technical Project Manager to spearhead the design, development, and deployment of intricate software systems, particularly in the realm of web applications and digital environments. This position demands a robust understanding of software architecture, data analytics, and artificial intelligence, paired with exceptional project management capabilities to drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in the design and architecture of software systems, ensuring alignment with strategic reuse and domain analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with technical teams to convert detailed designs into operational application systems.
  • Lead the formulation and specification of Artificial Intelligence system designs and interfaces for effective data handling.
  • Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, ensuring they align with organizational aspirations.
  • Provide guidance to junior software engineers, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
  • Oversee ad-hoc tasks related to the development and support of tailored software applications as required by clients.
  • Supervise the coding, integration, and testing of software components to meet design specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and refinement of applications to enhance performance and functionality.
  • Manage software development processes, including change tracking and version control using tools such as Jira, Git, and Selenium.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to leverage AI and Neural Network methodologies in alignment with strategic Data Science initiatives.
  • Implement AI tools to enhance search accuracy, content identification, and user interactions.
  • Prepare and maintain essential documentation, including both program-level and user-level guides.
  • Document software designs, user interface designs, and technical workflows.
  • Lead the advancement of digital repository architecture, ensuring cloud deployment and performance optimization.
  • Oversee the integration of new collections and data models into the repository, adhering to digital preservation standards.
  • Participate in regular stakeholder meetings to discuss requirements, designs, and software progress.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding project status and technical decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in information system design, including application programming and complex software development.
  • Proven expertise in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Neural Network methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS technologies, including IAM, VPC, Lambda, and S3.
  • Experience with Fedora Commons, Apache Solr, MySQL, and relevant development tools.
  • Familiarity with digital library standards and formats.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Ruby on Rails, XML, and JSON.
  • Experience in web application security testing and performance optimization.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
