Position Overview

Library Systems & Services is seeking a Program Coordinator to oversee all facets of a significant collection discoverability initiative at a prestigious institution. This position entails program oversight, performance evaluation, technical support, and detailed reporting on every element of the project. The Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with Collection and Discovery leadership, delivering timely information, addressing inquiries, and managing resources from the Contractor. Additionally, this role includes supervising Contractor personnel to ensure the creation of quality records and finding aids for system ingestion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with leadership and team members to identify and prioritize project requirements.
  • Develop communication and data collection instruments. Organize scheduling, meetings, and consulting efforts.
  • Oversee workflow pilot processes and manage Contractor staff.
  • Gather data, perform quality assurance checks and audits, and report findings to leadership.
  • Provide technical support and address program-related questions.
  • Manage timelines effectively to guarantee the project's completion on schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred: Master's degree in Library and Information Science.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing extensive cataloging and metadata initiatives.
  • Proficient in cataloging and creating authority records in accordance with RDA, DCRM, MARC, BIBCO/CONSER, LC/PCC Policy Statements, and NACO guidelines.
  • Knowledge of subject-specific classification systems is advantageous.
  • Experience with non-MARC metadata and metadata transformation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Alma for workflow development is desirable.
