Aerospace Project Engineer

Janicki Industries is a pioneering, family-owned enterprise in the aerospace sector. We specialize in the engineering and production of intricate projects for clients in the aerospace, defense, and space domains.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role is based on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.
As a Project Engineer, you will oversee all tasks necessary for the successful execution of assigned projects. Responsibilities may encompass client interaction and development of Statements of Work (SOW), design activities, and support during the manufacturing phase.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate closely with clients and internal technical teams to ensure progress throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
2. Engage in communication and consultation with design and manufacturing teams.
3. Assist in the formulation and release of planning documents and procurement of supplies.
4. Create and implement comprehensive project plans, managing timelines and budgets effectively.
5. Work directly with client technical teams to ascertain detailed requirements and deliverables, providing updates on project status.
6. Direct and engage in engineering tasks, including design reviews and preparation of work orders.
7. Ensure that materials are organized and ready for production, including managing purchasing activities.
8. Frequently interact with the shop floor to monitor project health, potentially maintaining a daily presence.
9. Understand and fulfill all quality standards for projects.
10. Manage project scope and conduct risk assessments.
11. Monitor and report on the financial performance of projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position necessitates the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will facilitate this process once employment commences.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is essential.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Proficiency in CATIA and NX or similar CAD software is required.
- Experience with composite materials in a lean manufacturing setting is necessary.
- A background in construction or architecture is preferred but not mandatory.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is between $68,000 - $145,000, along with a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Additional compensation may be available for off-shift work. The provided range represents Janicki's estimate of the base salary for this role.
