Job Overview

Position Title: DISTRICT MANAGER

Reports To: Director of Operations

Role Summary: The District Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales and profitability through effective financial oversight and leadership. This position provides guidance, direction, and support to the Restaurant General Managers to ensure the successful operation of the business. The District Manager is also responsible for ensuring adherence to operational standards, company policies, and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of annual sales forecasts, expense budgets, and capital expenditure plans. Ensure that capital and maintenance work is scheduled efficiently and within budget. Monitor financial performance and take corrective actions as needed. Prepare and submit all required financial documentation accurately.
  • Conduct regular assessments of each restaurant to ensure compliance with operational and quality standards. Provide feedback to management teams on strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that at least one restaurant in the district serves as a Training Restaurant, working closely with the Director of Training to certify Shift Responsible Personnel.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and monitor call volumes to identify potential staffing or operational issues.
  • Manage staffing needs for the district, focusing on retention and turnover rates. Conduct performance reviews and address labor efficiency challenges.
  • Regularly review Internal Audit Controls within each restaurant and ensure timely reporting of incidents to Risk Management. Uphold compliance with safety and cash control policies.
  • Document performance issues using the performance counseling process and conduct necessary investigations related to cash control or workplace conduct.
  • Implement marketing initiatives and maintain awareness of competitive dynamics in the market.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of 5-7 restaurant units. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and managing employee performance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred, along with 5-7 years of relevant experience in the quick-service restaurant industry.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities; capable of active listening and understanding diverse perspectives.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficient in performing financial analyses, including Profit and Loss statements, labor analysis, and inventory control.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to address complex problems with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Experience in building high-performance teams and coaching managers to enhance their leadership capabilities.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adaptable to new technology systems.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel to various locations, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
