Job Summary:

Smart Foodservice Stores LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Store Operations Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coach employees to provide efficient and friendly service at the registers and throughout the store.
  • Address personnel and performance issues, including coaching, verbal and written warnings.
  • Consult with the Store Manager and HR on next steps leading to progressive discipline and termination, when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with personnel policies and procedures.
  • Understand the mechanics of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and how operations translate into the monthly Profit and Loss (P&L).
  • Assist in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) budgeting process and achieve budgeted sales and profits.
  • Manage shrinkage with a focus on front-end processes.
  • Participate in the annual inventory process, including preparation and execution of inventory guidelines.
  • Train front-end employees and other employees on required programs.
  • Ensure all staff comply with company policies, procedures, and store SOPs.
  • Provide floor employees with day-to-day direction, including schedules, store goals, sales and shrinkage targets, and results.
  • Plan in-store demonstrations, including preparation and setup of the demo cart/display, distribution of samples, and utilization of suggestive selling techniques.
  • Assist in overseeing the receiving of product, return of damaged or expired product, and timely restocking of shelves.
  • Maintain merchandising programs within the store, including promotional ends, signage, and company-specific programs.
  • Communicate with store employees about merchandising and marketing programs, overseeing execution and follow-up reporting.
  • General operating procedures include analyzing monthly store reports, evaluating controllable expenses, and addressing variances to company standards.
  • Ensure proper scheduling of employees to meet business objectives.
  • Ensure all employees understand and can execute emergency operating procedures.
  • Accept special assignments as directed by the Store Manager.
  • Adhere to, communicate, and fully support and enforce all company policies, processes, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A two-year college degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • A degree in Business Management, Supply Chain/Wholesale Management, or Accounting/Finance strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a retail work environment required.
  • At least two (2) years of management/supervisory experience required.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to deliver superior customer service and build professional relationships with clients.
  • Ability to think quickly and critically, make good business decisions, and demonstrate good common sense.
  • Excellent leadership skills, high motivation, and self-driven.
  • Solid communication and conversational skills, negotiation skills, and adaptability.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, holidays, and weekends.
  • Competency and proficiency with computer applications and Microsoft programs.
